We draft and review policies, advise on CBUAE regulatory compliance, and manage the insurance dimension of corporate transactions — for insurers, brokers, and commercial clients alike.
Businesses in the UAE operate within a fast-evolving insurance landscape. Federal Decree-Law No. 6 of 2025 consolidated insurance regulation into the Central Bank of the UAE’s mandate alongside banking and financial services, with a reconciliation period for licensed entities to align with the new framework. The regulations, standards, and codes of conduct issued under the previous regime remain in force until replaced, which makes compliance mapping during the transition a live issue for insurers, brokers, and third-party administrators.
For commercial clients, insurance is both an obligation and a risk-management tool: compulsory covers (such as motor liability and workers’ protection), professional indemnity for regulated professions, directors’ and officers’ liability under the Commercial Companies Law, and tailored covers for construction, marine, and trade. The new Civil Code also brings a comprehensive framework for Takaful insurance. Our role as Legal Consultants is preventive as much as reactive — clear policy wording, correct regulatory positioning, and properly allocated insurance obligations in commercial contracts prevent most disputes before they arise.
